PINEY POINT, Md. – As of last week, a plea agreement has been made concerning a Piney Point man who was charged with storming the Capitol on January 6th in an attempt to disrupt the certification of the 2020 Presidential Election results.

The plea agreement was agreed to by Defense Attorney Maria Jacob and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

John Daniel Andries, 36, was arrested on February 4th, 2021 for his role in the riot after video footage of him showed him assaulting a police officer and entering the Speaker’s Chamber.

He is facing two federal felonies of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol Grounds.

He chose to plead not guilty despite overwhelming video evidence against him.

He would be released from prison pending the trial but would be arrested again this year on February 25th at Action Lounge and Billiards in Leonardtown.

According to police and court documents, Andries again assaulted a police officer as well as another patient and refused to cooperate with police while being detained.

He was charged with two counts of felony assault, two counts of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and one count of resisting arrest.

He would only plead guilty to resisting arrest.

More updates will be added once further details of the plea agreement are released.

  1. Ah yes, a new member of the FAAFO club, good for him! I guess that’s what happens when you fall in a Q hole 🤪 Hoping jail sobers him up quick.

      1. They’ve taken that in to consideration as far as his federal troubles, his lack of local troubles has to do with 👉💪🏻

  2. Who does this guy know? He never gets in trouble for anything. A glowing example of how law-enforcement doesn’t work.

  3. it would be nice if congress had had as much courage on January 6th, as these that visited washington, dc. There was nothing wrong with what most of them did. despite the looks of this court paperwork, the whole country is not against him. I bet you some innocent visitors (tourists) to the Capitol were arrested\ caught- up in this, too. Nothing wrong with asking Congress to consider not doing what it was planning on doing. The lesson the press + the police are trying to teach us about this is don’t go to congress + ask for anything, a ludicrous lesson. Those that went to washington dc on january 6th are some of the most responsible in the country.

  4. what are bounty hunters? They go after those who have been arrested + don’t show- up for court. They are part of the criminal justice system, they don’t work unless someone gets arrested. With bounty hunters involved, will we ever have criminal justice reform?

  5. Two up from here, what an idiot…Innocent tourists got “caught up” in storming the capitol.
